Bosnia poised for oil find - 29 June 2008
Bosnia calls itself the Olympics of the oil and gas industry. As record oil prices continue to cause concern around the globe, the world's leading consumers and producers are in Madrid, Spain's capital, for the 19th World Petroleum Congress. A similar meeting in Saudi Arabia failed last week to produce any agreement on what to do about soaring oil prices, but the conference in Madrid is suppose to better the dire situation. Al Jazeera's Alan Fisher reports from Bosnia where the country is on the verge of a major oil find and how high oil price could be good news for one corner of Europe.

Globe Trekker - The Balkans featuring Zay Harding
Globe Trekker Zay Harding visits the Balkan countries of former Yugoslavia: Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Montenegro. Zay discovers four countries rich in tradition and history, with a common desire to live life to the full! Starting in the Kosovo, which became independent in February 2008, Zay explores the capital city Prishtina, and spends the night Albanian dancing to local band "Machiato". An incredible 50% of the population of Kosovo is under the age of 20, and since independence, the local music scene is thriving. The next day Zay visits Gazimestan, a memorial to a war that took place over 500 years ago. It is where the Serbians fought the Turks in 1389. As a concession to Serbian withdrawal from Kosovo, the memorial is now heavily patrolled by UN troops, an eerie feeling for a tourist site. Next stop Serbia, and Zay's first point of call is at a traditional farming festival outside the Kalenic Monastery. Zay is most excited about the mustache competition, even the Guinness book world record holder Zoran Pontic is there. After fudging his way into the event with a 30 cm long fake mustache, Zay manages to get onstage before his mustache falls off in front of everyone! The next day, Zay visits the local monastery. He works hard to make amends for his antics by mucking out the stables and milking cows with the nuns. Zay travels on to the Serbian capital Belgrade, the former seat of power for the whole of Yugoslavia. It is a city that is famously located where ...

The Slants - Armed Forces Tour in Bosnia and Kosovo
The Slants are performing for the US troops stationed in Bosnia and Kosovo for Winter 2011/2012! ABOUT THE SLANTS: The Slants are the only all-Asian American dance rock band in the world. Kicking off the band's career at a tiny dive bar in Portland, OR, The Slants soon found themselves on tour and in demand worldwide performing at music halls, colleges, and anime conventions. Within months, they released their debut album "Slanted Eyes, Slanted Hearts" winning multiple awards from the likes of Willamette Week, Rockwired, AsiaXpress, and the Portland Music Awards. Since that first iconic show in 2007, The Slants have been cited as the "Hardest Working Asian American Band" (slanteyefortheroundeye.com), toured North America ten times, rejected a million dollar recording contract, were the first and only Asian band to be a Fender Music artist, and according to US Congress, the first rock band to play inside a state library. The Willamette Week, summarizes The Slants' history perfectly: "It's a great story: All-Asian synthcore troupe lands anime festival, achieves instantaneous notoriety from overpacked fireball-laden maelstrom, inspires John Woo and Dragon Ball Z fans toward aggro electro and—just months after its first practice—books gigs across the globe. As shadow-warriory as the Slants' rise has been, it's still all about the tunes, and the band's debut—floor-filling synth pop bristling with all the menace and grandeur of its oft name-checked cultural icons—is propulsive ...

In the Land of Blood and Honey -- Golden Review, TV Spot
www.inthelandofbloodandhoney.com https www.twitter.com In select theaters December 23rd, 2011. Golden Globe nominee for Best Foreign Language Film. Written and directed by Angelina Jolie. Starring Zana Marjanović and Goran Kostić. Set against the backdrop of the Bosnian War that tore the Balkan region apart in the 1990s, In the Land of Blood and Honey tells the story of Danijel (Goran Kostić) and Ajla (pronounced Ayla) (Zana Marjanović), two Bosnians from different sides of a brutal ethnic conflict. Danijel, a Bosnian Serb police officer, and Ajla, a Bosnian Muslim artist, are together before the war, but their relationship is changed as violence engulfs the country. Months later, Danijel is serving under his father, General Nebojsa Vukojevich (Rade Šerbedžija), as an officer in the Bosnian Serb Army. He and Ajla come face to face again when she is taken from the apartment she shares with her sister, Lejla (Vanesa Glodjo), and Lejla's infant child by troops under Danijel's command. As the conflict takes hold of their lives, their relationship changes, their motives and connection to one another become ambiguous and their allegiances grow uncertain. In the Land of Blood and Honey portrays the incredible emotional, moral and physical toll that the war takes on individuals as well as the consequences that stem from the lack of political will to intervene in a society stricken with conflict.

The Slants spent the Winter Holidays of 2011/2012 performing for the troops serving overseas at Camp Butmir (Sarajevo, Bosnia), Camp Bondsteel (Pristina, Kosovo), and in Film City, Kosovo. The first video has footage of the band exploring the streets of Sarajevo, performing at the venue on base (The Millenium Bar), and having the show shut down by the NATO Military Police. Investigative journalist Wayne Madsen talks about his interview with Russia Today. Madsen's sources claim the US allowed Taliban fighters into Iraq to attack occupation soldiers and civilians. prisonplanet.tv www.infowars.com Recent revelations concerning the US importing Taliban members into Iraq to foster false flag terrorism is merely the tip of the iceberg when compared to the US intelligence complexs multi-decade history in sponsoring Sunni Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist groups around the world. Wayne Madsen recently revealed how Taliban fighters were being imported from Afghanistan into Iraq to attack civilians and US soldiers, as well as how Muqtada al-Sadrs al-Mahdi Army was being allowed to import materials to make IEDs. However, this is just one aspect of how the US has used terrorist groups as pawns on the global chessboard, moving them around the globe in line with their geopolitical objectives. As is voluminously documented, the US first worked covertly with Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan from 1979-1989. Following this, the Al-Qaeda pawns were moved on to Bosnia shortly after the outbreak of war in 1992 to fight against Bosnian Serbs who were subsequently the target of NATO air strikes. Following the end of the war, hundreds of Bosnian passports were provided to the mujahedeen by the Muslim-controlled government in Sarajevo, according to Lenard Cohen, professor of political science at Simon Fraser University.
